Everyday lock work for a family hamlet
Springs has its own elementary school, the Springs School, which serves children from pre-K through eighth grade. Lock work here follows family life: kids lose house keys, a teenager needs a copy, a back door lock wears until the key will not turn, a key breaks off in the deadbolt on a cold morning. We cover those with key duplication, broken key extraction, lock repair and replacement, and lockouts at any hour, and we install deadbolts and smart locks from Schlage, Yale, Kwikset and Emtek.
Before a house sits empty for the off-season, we can rekey it so stray copies stop working, or add a keypad so a neighbor can get in without a spare hidden on the porch. A keypad on the side door also helps when relatives arrive before you do.
Bonackers, painters and two bodies of water
Springs occupies the neck of land between Accabonac Creek and Three Mile Harbor. Longtime residents are traditionally called Bonackers, a name that comes from Accabonac Harbor.
The hamlet is often described as the cradle of the abstract expressionist movement. Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning both worked here, and the Pollock-Krasner House and Studio, owned by Stony Brook University, stands on Springs-Fireplace Road. Ashawagh Hall is another Springs landmark, and Louse Point is one of the local beaches.
Studios, sheds and the quiet months
Plenty of Springs lots have a second building on them: a painting studio, a workshop, a garage full of tools. A detached building often ends up with a padlock and nothing else. We fit a proper lockset and deadbolt to an outbuilding door, key it to match the house or keep it separate, and can install a small safe inside for anything valuable. A studio with glass-paneled doors can take a keyless lock, so there is no key to misplace while you work.
Caretakers and property managers who look after several Springs houses, and residents who run a business from a home office, can call us too. We rekey each house so it is clear which key opens which door, and fit file cabinet locks or a safe where records are kept.
