Year-round houses and lockouts
People who live here all year call us for familiar problems: a door that won’t lock, a key that snapped in the cylinder, a back door lock that has rusted stiff. We extract broken keys, repair or replace old locks and install new deadbolts. Lockout service runs 24/7 for houses and apartments, and if a key has been lost, we can rekey on the same visit so the missing key no longer works.
Rental turnover
Owners who rent a Hampton Bays house by the week or the season deal with a steady stream of keys, and every changeover is a chance for one to leave with a guest. We rekey exterior locks between seasons, install keypad or smart locks so each booking gets its own code, and cut labeled duplicates for cleaners and caretakers. Worn deadbolts and handle sets can be replaced with Schlage, Yale or Kwikset hardware.
Shops, offices and the working waterfront
Hampton Bays has a commercial side of its own, from storefronts and offices along Montauk Highway to the businesses tied to the fishing station at Shinnecock Inlet. For shops we repair and replace storefront locks, install emergency exit hardware and fit Medeco or Mul-T-Lock high-security cylinders. Offices with several doors can run on a master key system, so the owner carries one key and each employee opens only the rooms they use; when someone leaves, we rekey their part of the system. Electronic and passkey locks let a manager delete a code instead of chasing a key. Records rooms get file cabinet locks, and business safes are installed, opened, repaired and given new combinations.
A business that hires extra help for the summer can rekey once that help is gone and start the next season with keys it can account for. Owners locked out of a shop, office or storage building can call us at any hour.
Hampton Bays and its waterways
Long before it was called Hampton Bays, part of the area was settled in 1740 as Good Ground. Eleven smaller hamlets merged under the Hampton Bays name in 1922, and the community is still a hamlet in the Town of Southampton. On its eastern side, the man-made Shinnecock Canal links Great Peconic Bay with Shinnecock Bay, while Shinnecock Inlet connects that bay to the Atlantic and is busy with commercial fishing. The Long Island Rail Road’s Montauk Branch also stops in the hamlet.
